We are the Cooktown Coach, connecting the north on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays*. Cairns Cooktown Express allows customers to travel in comfort and safety with the convenience of an extensive travel schedule. Providing flexibility and consistency for customers, we offer unparalleled bus transport on our Cairns to Cooktown bus service, stopping at all major locations including Mareeba and Palmer River*. Bus will stop at other locations including Kuranda, Biboohra, Mt Molloy, Mt Carbine, Lakeland, and the Lion’s Den if a pre-paid booking has been made.
Cooktown transportation has never been easier - departing Cairns on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 7:30am and Cooktown Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons at 1:30pm, let us take you there!

CAIRNS TO TURALBA BUS
We are pleased to offer a Turalba bus service, connecting the region to the Turalba Rural Workers Accommodation on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays*. Note: only Cairns to Turalba OR Turalba to Cairns transfers are available to and from Turalba.

*PLEASE NOTE:
- There will be no services on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
- Cairns Cooktown Express always stops at Cairns Central Railway Station, Mareeba, Palmer River and Cooktown. For all other locations along the route we recommend you pre-book to ensure the vehicle will stop.
- You must pre-book! Pre-paid bookings are essential to guarantee the Cairns Cooktown Express will stop at a particular location and to confirm there are available seats.
- Infants 0 - under 2 are Free (on parents' lap).
- Children 2-14 - 50% of Adult Fare - 15 years and older full fare applies. All children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Concession Card Holders get 25% off but must show the card on the day of travel of the full fare applies.
- Students (age 15 and up) receive 25% off but must show ID on the day of travel or the full Fare applies.
- We do not offer international student discounts.
- Extra Luggage: One carry on item per passenger is accepted without further charges. All other bags, boxes and/or bikes are charged out at $30.00 - $45.00 per item.
